The aim of this collection was to understand how food and nostalgia are connected to each other and how they can be translated into design, creating a series of furniture, starting from a personal and heartfelt approach to the topic.
Nutrition is an essential. The plate of Pfannkuchen in front of us reminds us of the one, eaten three years ago on the west coast of Germany. Who were we with? Was it any better than this? Or was it maybe the sea air that gave it a pinch of saline?
And here the present food evokes the past, through the orality, in the conversations around the table between one bite and another.
Lunches and dinners punctuate our daily lives as much as the moments of celebration, unrepeatable occasions such as baptisms, weddings and funerals, breaking into history such as Marie Antoinette‘s Croissants, Proust`s Madeleine, Marengo Chicken and Bismarck Hering.
A story about the past but applied to the present.
This vitrine is made of a light blue steel frame and holds an also light blue curtain, with bold prints. The illustrations are based on selected photos that show a personal moment, that the designer often looks back to, always based around a table. One object of each photo is isolated and serves as a representative for the moment. The illustrations were printed on translucent and light fabric, allowing the view inside the vitrine.
